Location Installation Log files in case of problems

When reporting problems installing the product, you may be asked to send in certain log files so that we can analyze the problem.

The InstallShield log file can be found in this location: %TEMP%\JournyxTimesheetSetupLog.txt
This file is needed by Journyx Support if the product installation fails for any reason.

A separate logfile is produced by the 'Setup Web Server and Database' program that runs after you reboot. This logfile will be needed by Support if there is a problem configuring your web server or database.
The file can be found in this location: %WTHOME%\IntegrationLog.txt

%WTHOME% is the location where you installed the product, such as "C:\Program Files\Journyx". If you simply type %WTHOME% into the address bar of a Windows Explorer window then it will take you to the correct location.

Finally, the logfile for system log messages and error codes in the web interface can be found in this location: %WTHOME%\jwt\tmp\debug.log
For instance, if you installed in the default location: C:\Program Files\Journyx\jwt\tmp\debug.log

Local installation? Backup your data with 'BACKUPDB'!

If you are using a local Journyx installation (whether the free or a payed version), use the Journyx commands 'BACKUPDB & RESTOREDB' to backup (and restore) your Journyx data. The data will be saved in a '.jx' file which can be restored in any Journyx environment. For example, your server has crashed but your financial department urgently needs completed and approved time- and expense sheets for billing and salary purposes. Just install the Journyx software on a different machine (OS doesn't matter) and restore the .jx backup file and you're back in business.

More information about the Journyx command 'backupdb':

Please check out the System Administrator & Disaster Recovery Guide on the product documentation page for more information about backup/restore options (Chapter Technical & Installation Documentation, opens up in a new window).

Check out the screenshots of the backup procedure on a Windows installation.
